The podcast you are about to listen to is a creation of the guys who chose bulling and toxic relationships between friends as a topic of interest. Through dialogues they created for this purpose, with commentary from the school psychologist and social worker, they present a short but highly instructive story about rumours, relationships and choices we make every day...

Which side are you on?

The first dialogue has to do with a group of friends who are discussing the news they have just learned: that their classmate Danae from a high school class has started dating Orestes, who is from a high school class. They comment that their friend is much better looking than the boy and speak slightly disparagingly of him. In this dialogue, neither of the couple is in the front.
The second dialogue is a conversation between the girl and the boy while they are in a relationship. In this conversation there are some attempts at manipulation and gashlighting of the girl towards the boy but the listener understands that the boy is trying to limit the girl's choices. E.g., in the way she behaves, the clothes she wears, the choices she makes, etc.
 The third dialogue is the girl's announcement to her friends that the boy has leaked personal photos of her. The girl furiously describes the situation and tells how she is experiencing it.
The fourth dialogue is the boy's conversation with his friends about what they have learned. They generally do not agree with the act, they are surprised about what happened, the boy tries to argue his innocence but not strongly. He may be taking advantage of this situation as well. The boy's last words to his friends are: "once you provoke the other person, you should expect to be a victim yourself."
The fifth dialogue is again between the girl and her friends some days later. The girl is worried about how she will go around school, that everyone will look at her, how her parents will know... She also thinks that her mother will not care. But at some point a friend will raise the concern, "we've been talking about this for 3 days but neither of us have seen a picture". There will be no clear answer from the girl and there the friend will understand that this is all a rumour which the "victim" has fabricated.
The sixth dialogue is the last one and closes again with the first group who discuss in a similar (to the first dialogue) style that what they so easily believed at the beginning, turned out to be a lie.
The general concern has to do with the fact that whether it's true or it's a rumor doesn't matter anymore because everyone believes what they hear.
The story the girl has created is a cry for help.
The five concepts are linked together as a sequence: ati leads to hubris, which leads to nemesis and thesis, and finally leads to catharsis. It is a process of restoring the moral order, which does not leave arrogance unpunished and offers a way of purification for society or for the individual himself.
