When our parents were students, the word "school" was synonymous with sterile knowledge and punishment. And how did the teachers review the day's lesson?

The joy of the teachers was the examination of any theoretical course! The "unlucky" students lined up in a row with their hands stuck to their sides, as if they were going to sing the national anthem, only instead of it, they started parroting the lesson they had memorized-photographed-imprinted the day before.

The lesson is done in a playful and attractive way for everyone.

What happens in the classroom?

Dialogue and discussion dominate during the course. Each male and female student expresses his opinion freely, without fear that what he says will go viral. Everyone knows their rights and there is respect for all members of the school community.

Is there only class today?

There is now also the introduction of a new word, the word "action".  Students, with the help of the teacher, carry out activities, alongside the lesson, in order to show that school is not only about studying.A tree planting, a visit to an olive mill, observing the transformation of the olive into "gold" or even the teleconference with a famous athlete who talks about the struggle he made to reach the accolade, are simple examples for the New School to prove that it focuses only on the student and constantly provides him with stimuli, hoping that he will absorb them like a sponge.

Is there a punishment today?

The word "rules" has been simplified in the New School. We now leave the context of punishment and move into that of understanding our actions and actions. This is due to the fact that at the beginning of each school year there is a class contract stuck on the wall, with the signatures of all the children for a smooth coexistence inside and outside the classroom.We don't make fun of the others, we try not to fight, we resolve any differences peacefully.

What else do we learn at school?

Information comes and bombards us daily from everywhere. The internet has entered our lives for good and it is not going to go out. The New School helps us process and filter this information. How; Helping us develop a concept called 'critical thinking'. Thanks to it, we can easily understand when something is fake news and when it is not.

How are today's classes?
 
In the classroom we are not all the same. There are also children who for various reasons have been born with some form of physical or mental disability, there are students who speak a different language or have a different color. The New School cultivates "inclusion" with which we accept these children equally in the classroom, in the group, in the company.
But it also cultivates "empathy", with which we treat others exactly as we would like them to treat us. If we can and do this, the world will become better for everyone.
If we have to memorize anything from the New School it is these two concepts, and if the teacher caught us unread and unread, then its ok if they punish you with the "stork" and you keep standing.

The New School is here to stay. He came to make us better and better. It came to show that it does not stand still and is constantly evolving. All of us who are part of it, students and teachers, work every day to be able to deliver tomorrow's active and integrated citizen to society.
